Our Understanding

Nationally, our educational institutions are facing challenges with ever shrinking budgets,
burgeoning number of students, increasing total cost of schools administrative and capital
expenditures etc. On the other hand, global standards have continued to rise and many
educational institutions in Nigeria are ever struggling to catch up. It is becoming more
difficult as time goes by for these schools to catch up without adopting a winning strategy.
Most of these mentioned issues facing our educational system are not peculiar to Nigeria as
all countries of the world also at one time or the other have to face the challenge of training
their youths and entire citizens to solve its societal questions. But, in the case of Nigeria, the
matter becomes slightly different as we are faced with an ever-spiraling population with ever
strong quest for quality higher education. The implication is that annually, burgeoning
populations of Nigerian youths churned out of our high schools waste a good measure of

crimes.
